CHEMICAL
Energy solutions for the chemical industry.
Acid plants, reformers and incinerators all run on heat, and most of it can be recovered. We have been building the boilers that do it for sulphuric acid plants since the 1980s, and we have grown with the industry into nitric acid, methanol, wet sulphuric acid and waste incineration.

Introduction
Bulk, fine and speciality chemicals all start from a handful of exothermic processes: burning sulphur to make sulphuric acid, oxidising ammonia to make nitric acid, reforming gas to make methanol and ammonia, and incinerating what the plant cannot exhaust or sell. Each releases gas at high temperature, and each plant's steam balance is built on recovering it. Sulphuric acid is the largest of these by volume, and we specialise in it, having supplied boilers for plants of 5,000 TPD and above.
What we bring
- Waste heat boilers in fire-tube and water-tube construction, gas-gas heat exchangers, preheaters, economisers and superheaters for sulphuric acid plants on the sulphur-burning and wet-gas routes
- Converter boilers, economisers and start-up heaters for nitric acid
- Process and reformer gas boilers for methanol and ammonia
- Incinerator packages with waste heat boilers for liquid and gaseous waste
- From concept to commissioning, to the licensor's basis

Nitric Acid
Ammonia oxidation in the converter is strongly exothermic. Converter boilers, economisers and start-up heaters hold the process temperature profile and raise steam.

Sulphuric Acid (SAP)
Sulphur burning produces gas at high temperature; waste heat boilers, gas-gas heat exchangers, preheaters, economisers and superheaters recover it. 250+ installations, plants to 5,000 TPD.

WSA
Wet gas sulphuric acid plants convert sulphur-bearing waste gases without drying them; our boilers and superheaters recover most of the feed energy.

Incinerator
Liquid and gaseous wastes destroyed at 850 to 1,100 °C, with the heat recovered as plant steam.

Ammonia
Reformed gas at 950 to 1,050 °C cooled in a process gas boiler raising steam above 100 bar.

Methanol
Synthesis gas cooled in a reformer gas boiler; fire-tube single or twin designs, gas-tight construction.
