WTE POWER PLANT
Boilers and power islands for refuse-derived fuel.
Refuse-derived fuel is the sorted, shredded fraction of municipal waste that can be fired like a fuel. The plant that burns it is a boiler, a turbine and a flue gas system, and we supply the first two.
Where the energy is
Waste-based fuel arrives wet and variable, with a heating value that changes by the hour. A furnace burns it with controlled air; the boiler behind it raises steam for a condensing turbine; the flue gas system removes acid gases and particulates before the stack.
What the boiler has to do
- Live with fouling and chloride corrosion
- Air-cooled or water-cooled furnace construction depending on the fuel
- A specialised grate with pneumatic spreader for even firing
- A tail-end boiler with a horizontal convective bank that can be cleaned
- Cleaning devices proven on high-fouling waste fuels

What we supply
- Waste-to-energy boilers with grate and firing system
- The steam turbine and balance of plant on EPC
- 10 installations
