AFBC BOILERS
Atmospheric fluidized bed boilers engineered for challenging and low-grade fuels.
Coal fines, lignite, washery rejects, dolochar from the sponge iron kiln, petcoke blends and biomass: an AFBC boiler burns them at a temperature low enough to stay clean and efficient.

What it is
In an atmospheric bubbling fluidised bed boiler, air blown through a bed of inert material and fuel keeps the bed fluidised and burning at 800 to 900 °C, below the ash softening point. Heat transfer tubes sit in the bed and in the convective passes above it. The low combustion temperature keeps thermal NOx down, and limestone fed to the bed captures sulphur in place, so flue gas desulphurisation can be omitted. The design is far less sensitive to fuel and ash properties than a conventional stoker or pulverised fuel boiler.
- Fire Tube design with(out) Hot / Cold Bypass
- Design consideration for high gas side operating pressure
- Single piece / extended ferrules
- Special consideration for Metal dusting issues
- GAPFREE WELDING to avoid CREVICE CORROSION

How we build it
- In-bed evaporator or superheater tubes with erosion protection; convective passes above
- Hopper-bottom design for firing dolochar in sponge iron complexes
- Limestone feed for in-bed sulphur capture; fuel feed systems for mixed fuels
- Bed temperature control through air and fuel distribution; turndown through bed slumping
- Natural circulation bi-drum construction; economiser and air preheater
- Supplied standalone or as the boiler island of a captive power plant on EPC
